Did you know that REACH, the European Union Directive pertaining to the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances will be phased in over 11 years?

If you sell or export chemicals to Europe, then you will be prompted to change the way you document and manage chemicals in the years ahead. Join SOCMA at Informex 2009 for an update on REACH timetables and implementation strategies. The session will address the first phase of implementation and provide the basics on preliminary rules that address chemical safety assessment documents, filing for exemptions, testing, waiver of testing on the basis of exposure scenarios, and criteria for identifying bio-accumulative and toxic substances.

REACh presentation will include:

Holger Hueppeler, Senior Vice President, LANXESS Deutschland GmbH, LXS Procurement
Holger will discuss REACh from the EU purchasing perspective and include details on Lanxess's compliance strategy for both finished goods and raw materials, costs of registration, issues specifically related to intermediates and many other REACh issues from the EU perspective.

Tucker Helmes - SOCMA Visions
Tucker will discuss consortium and SIEF management issues, including antitrust, handling HPV data, and contracting issues for test data, first import rule and other technical issues related to REACh.

V.M. (Jim) DeLisi - Fanwood Chemical
Jim will discuss "OR" issues and the business aspects of REACh.  He will also update the attendees on international issues revolving around REACh.
