InformexUSA Survey Reveals Market Trends

Exhibitors and visitors at InformexUSA 2008 said they were optimistic on the prospects for growth. Almost two thirds of survey respondents (65%) called for their business to improve 5-10% percent during the year, a statistic that virtually matched last year’s 63% projection of 5-10% growth.

The majority of return visitors (73%) and a fair number of first timers (27%) come to Informex with the intention of ‘trading up’ to the advanced chemical technologies they find at the show.  And in doing so, many serve as the leaders in their markets, whatever the marketplace conditions may be. It’s no wonder that the survey findings show Informex exhibitors and attendees as upbeat on the growth prospects of their business virtually every year!

A key finding in the post-event survey centered on the types of companies interested in higher value chemicals. Three quarters of the companies who attend declare annual sales that range from 50 to over 500 million dollars. This wide range of sales figures suggests that companies of all sizes rely on higher value chemicals for improvements in manufacturing processes, product functionality, product performance, and more, and they come to Informex to find them. Thirty percent of attendees indicated a purchasing authority of more than one million dollars.

2009 Exhibit Update: 3/4 Sold for '09

Three-Quarters of the 2009 event is already booked! For 2009, we’ve split the dining area on the show floor to accommodate more exhibits at the center to make any location a good one.

Click here to see the floor plan or apply for a booth.

Private  meeting rooms, which sold out last year, are already almost all gone again. All meeting rooms on the show floor have been taken, but there are still mezzanine-level rooms available.

Mezzanine-level rooms are equipped with a conference table, 10 chairs and a 22x28 sign, displaying the company logo, placed outside the door.

Meet, Greet, Buy, Sell:
Informex is the Place Where the Fine & Specialty Chemical Manufacturing Industry Gathers

For attendees looking to network in the fine and specialty chemical industry Informex is the place to be. The 2008 show had a total of twelve events where visitors were able to meet new and prospective clients and touch base with existing partners in a variety of business and more casual atmospheres.

The Welcome Reception, sponsored by
Dixie Chemical, kicked off the 2008 show. Attendees were able to meet and get to know one another in a casual atmosphere before the exhibits opened and the rush of the show began. Other events included catered breakfasts and lunches on the show floor, which gave attendees time to gather information and interact without having to trek away from the venue. At the Networking Reception, sponsored by C&EN, attendees had time to discuss their ideas outside the exhibit hall at Mulate’s, an authentic Cajun restaurant.

Informex 2009 looks to be another outstanding event with the return of the Gala dinner and more Exhibitor and Technology Showcases.

We are working to add to our popular series of networking roundtables, using feedback from our attendees. Next year, in addition to our more technical, science-oriented offerings, visitors can expect to see more business-related roundtables focused on outsourcing and other aspects of doing business in chemical manufacturing.

Did You Know?

*Lombard Street known as the
"crookedest street in the world" is not actually “the crookedest” street. Vermont street at 20th & 22nd is more crooked - and it only comes in at a measly 18% gradient.

*San Francisco is small in size, and nearly surrounded by water. The dimensions of the city are roughly seven miles by seven miles.

*There are over two hundred coffee houses within the San Francisco’s city limits. Francis Ford Coppola famously wrote large portions of The Godfather Trilogy in Caffe Trieste, the first San Francisco coffee shop, established in 1956.
