Informex 2nd Annual Gala Dinner in San Francisco  Back by popular demand, Informex will hold the second annual Gala Dinner at the Informex conference to be held in San Francisco, California in January of 2009. Themed Flavors of San Francisco: An Evening in Wine Country the event, dressed with the iconic images of San Francisco, will pay homage to the city and surrounding areas. Attendees will be transported into an "evening outing" in the wine country complete with sommeliers, wine tastings with local experts and a peek into the world of California wine-making. The highlight will be the keynote address by former Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright. As Secretary of State, Dr. Albright reinforced America’s alliances, advocated democracy and human rights, and promoted American trade and business, labor, and environmental standards abroad. Biotechnology Comes to Informex 2009
The pair up between biotechnology and the Informex show is a natural fit. Nearly half of all Informex exhibitors stated in their 2008 profiles that they offer a technology or service to the biotechnology industry. Given that Northern California Biotechnology companies have 393 products on the market and 400 products in Phase II and Phase III clinical trials, it is fair to assume that the industry will rely substantially on outsourcing in the years ahead. California is for all intents and purposes the center of the biotechnology universe. In Northern California alone, approximately 900 companies support the development of biopharmaceuticals and industrial biotechnology products. With such a large concentration of industry professionals in the region, it is only natural for Informex to extend a warm welcome to those engaged in the research, development and commercialization of products derived from living organisms.Informex is working with industry professionals to develop a "Biotechnology Day", catering to the needs of both sourcing professionals and sellers in the Biotech market. 
When we asked senior sourcing professionals what they would like to see at Informex 2009, we found most wanted the same thing: New products and technologies. In response to a recent survey, sourcing professionals said that changing marketplace conditions – like the trend toward ‘natural’ solutions – will drive a search for “the innovative” and “the new” at Informex 2009.
