is very proud of its long standing history. The InformexUSA show will celebrate its 27
th
birthday in 2011. If you ever have a chance, I would encourage you to speak with one of the Informex founders. The founders are a group of about 25
SOCMA
members who decided the natural progression of what
SOCMA
could offer to its members should include a networking event where they could meet, learn about each others capabilities and do business together to benefit themselves,
SOCMA
, and the overall chemical industry.
The Informex show started out as a few table-top exhibits in a hotel ballroom and has grown to be an entire global brand of chemical industry related events. We are still very protective of that core founding idea which is why we have stayed so closely aligned with
SOCMA
and with the founders. Every year at the show you will see a large presence of Informex founders, and you will also see the current SOCMA / Informex Advisory committee members.
We meet with a committee of very dedicated industry professionals at least once a quarter to discuss the general direction of the show, and to make certain that we are continuing to serve the needs of the greater chemical industry. Without these two distinct groups of people we wouldn’t have been so successful for so many years. We truly value their dedication to Informex. It’s very rare in the event industry to have so many people who are so devoted to a show, and we really appreciate how lucky we are to have this strong foundation.
In the upcoming months you will be hearing about many new Informex initiatives. We are planning to exponentially increase our virtual presence, we are hoping to add more stand-alone conferences throughout the year, and we are beginning to develop Informex shows in other regions of the world. However rest assured that we are going to continue to uphold the tradition started so many years ago with InformexUSA.
