Those of you who have been following the blog will know by now how seriously the Informex team takes customer feedback. We are always looking for it, and we are constantly trying new ways to tap into the core thought leaders of the industry.

Since UBM bought the Informex show we have maintained a strong advisory committee in conjunction with SOCMA. The committee has been a wonderful source of information and guidance. We really rely upon them to help us understand the needs of the industry.

So far, in 2010, Informex has launched, or is launching two inaugural events. The first being the Informex Specialty Chemical conference held in Houston, TX and the second being the Informex Latin America event taking place on August 23-24 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Caitlin Devlin, our content specialist based in Princeton, went down to Brazil last week to meet with the advisory board that we have put together to organize the conference program for the Latin America event. The committee is made up of people from Associaquim, Abiquim, Abpol, CRQ, Petrobras, Purac, Kemira, Sasil, and the UKTI.

The Latin America committee turned out to be incredibly vocal. We barely got though introductions when the members started discussing their thoughts for the program, who they think should speak, and explaining in great detail how the chemical industry works in Brazil. It was amazing! Everyone came to the meeting prepared with so many ideas and suggestions. They were so incredibly helpful, much more so than we ever could have expected. It only took about 3 hours to nail down a really solid event program.

The Informex Latin America event is truly going to be brought to you by the chemical industry. The Informex brand is so much stronger when we get excited responses from the industry. We really want to design events that are tailored to you. So please tell us what you think!
